Foil printing
A metallic layer transferred onto an adhesive graphic to give a reflective, mirror-like accent. It is used selectively, because the impact comes from contrast against the base cloth. Adhesion and flex are tested through wash before the placement is approved.
PARAMETERS
Foil printing — how it runs
| Best on fabrics | Visual effect | Artwork needs | Limits / risks | Typical add-on lead impact |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smooth cottons, polyesters and stable blends with a flat surface | Bright metallic reflection in gold, silver, holographic and custom tones | Vector artwork with solid areas; fine hairlines may not transfer cleanly | Can crack or dull with heavy flex and abrasion; textured grounds weaken adhesion | Adds a transfer and cure step; artwork proofing usually runs once |
